Buyers of the most popular vehicle in the most popular automotive segment in the nation — the 2017 Honda CR-V compact SUV — are going to have to pay more to get one compared to last year's model.
When the refreshed CR-V goes on sale later this month, it will start at $24,945, including a $900 destination charge, for the entry-level LX model. That's $200 more than its 2016 counterpart.
It becomes the second priciest among competitors, behind archrival Toyota RAV4 at $25,850. Other, cleaper competitors include 2017 versions of the Ford Escape at $24,495; Hyundai Tucson at $23,595; Nissan Rogue at $24,760; and; with all prices including destination charges.
At the other end of CR-V pricing spectrum, the top-trim Touring version starts at $33,295, also $200 more than the outgoing version. In the middle, the EX starts at $27,595, a $600 hike. All-wheel drive adds $300 to all trim levels, and navigation tacks $1,000 onto the price of the EX-L.
